Alfred Freeman
Meet Alfred Freeman, the oldest great grandchild of Bom. Alfred was born in 1938 and is 67 years old. He is the grandson of Mattie and Simon Freeman and the son of the Justice Simon Freeman and Bulah Alandrn Freeman. Coincidentally, Alfred's father Justice Simon is the oldest grandchild of Bom, and his grandmother Mattie, the oldest child of Bom and Justus.
As you may have already noticed, the spelling of Alfred's father's name is different than our ancestor Justus. His father's name is spelled "Justice" while our ancestor is spelled as "Justus." Alfred wasn't sure of the reason for the difference is spelling other than to note that it was common during earlier times for the spelling of names to appear as sounded.
Alfred memories of the Doyle family is fond and numerous. He describes his father Justice as a quiet person who spent considerable time in the military. Also, Alfred has very clear memories of Bom. To him, Bom was very kind and sweet, but also was very strict. Bom "did not take any foolishness," and when she spoke, it was the law.
Alfred currently lives in Austin, Texas and have been married to Jo Freeman for 28 precious years. He also has four children, three of whom are living. Two of his children lives in Texas, and the third is serving in the military in Georgia, and has served four tours of duty in Iraq as a Ranger/Paratrooper.
Alfred is also very religious and is a deacon in his church. He presently attends Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, a 4000 plus member congregation, attended by numerous family members. Alfred said that everyone at the church is practically kin to him on either his father or mother's side of the family. He also mentioned that it is a wonderful experience to worship and attend a church were there are so many family members. He's constantly meeting new kinfolk!
